As you already know, approving adsense is the toughest thing to do online especially if you are from developing Asian or African countries. There are a lot of guides & eBooks about this topic in the internet as AdSense is the most legit way to make money online. However, what I have covered here is more than details, extra additional knowledge to help you finally get approved by adsense.
This is the best AdSense Approval Guide in the internet where you will discover a lot of latest adsense approval trick & mysteries. Million other approved publishers already know about these secrets about adsense approval process. It is cool, right? Let’s get started.
But before we move into the main part, I have to tell my very beginner users what adsense really is. We will cover advanced topics after this.
What is Google AdSense?
Google AdSense is the best website monetization technique to make money online. It is an advertising network that pays us for displaying various ads in our website. Many bloggers are earning huge amount of money on autopilot everyday using Google AdSense. All they need to do is, create a great piece of content & get a lot of genuine visitors.
There is one more name related to AdSense & that is Google AdWords. Google AdWords is a place where advertisers pay money to Google for displaying their brand’s advertisement to grow their business. Google may place such advertisements in your website, YouTube or sponsored searches. The place to advertise is determined by auction from advertisers, the real business owners who pay to Google. When the ads are placed on your website and if someone clicks on it, you will get commission from cpc (cost-per-click) bidding.
I hope you get a little idea about what Google AdSense is. There are a lot of things to learn in upcoming days. But for now, let’s move into the main topic which is how to approve adsense.
How to Approve AdSense in 2019 & Beyond
Are you ready to invest? This is online business and you can’t kick start any business without investing.
Now I am not promoting any affiliate products or links here. I hereby show you pure knowledge.
Investing for Adsense does not means that you have to buy an office or take a building in rent. No need to hire employees or give job to anyone.
Investing for Adsense is quite cheap. Now, the profit & loss thing comes after approval.
I don’t guarantee you anything about the earnings right now. Our main goal is to approve adsense at this moment.
To get adsense approved, you will need to invest.
Now the question is…
What should you invest at in?
The answer: “Buy everything that is necessary to run a WordPress site.“
First you will need to invest in hosting. You will need not more than 2GB plan. Pick a hosting plan that has unlimited bandwidth with no restrictions. They are also cheap at the same time.
Facebook Groups, Google search, etc. are some cool ways to find details and reviews about a web hosting provider.
Do not use any of the free web hosting services provided out there. Free hosting is for learning only. If you try to commercialize it, your hosting account could get suspended or adsense won’t get approved.
Adsense doesn’t likes sites hosted on free platforms because such servers share same resource with everyone. So to prevent overloading, they also limit bandwidth. This results in low traffic & visitors coming into your site. Plus, they also have a lot of restrictions & less security causing downfall of your website. Even your data might get leaked. Google can detect that & without any further investigation, it will reject your application.
Second thing that you need to invest in is the domain name, a premium .com is better. You can also choose .net, .org or similar Top Level Domain (TLD). A domain is quite cheap to buy. A domain can be bought from the money saved for movie tickets & pop-corns. It’s just that simple.
Note: Avoid a country level domain like .np, .in, etc. while signing up for adsense. Also avoid sub-domains like .blogspot.com, .wordpress.com, .wix.com, .weebly.com, etc.
Now, when I say that, it does not mean it is not possible to approve adsense with such things but takes time and hard work like 6 months to 1-2 years or more.
Imagine the profit you can get in return if you rather invest & use that time to do something productive. But it is a business where profit & losses are two sides of a same coin. Risk it on your own.
And one more thing, you will also need to invest in ssl certificates & professional e-mail address.
That’s it, once you have done this; you are ready to move into next section of adsense approval process which is niche research.
One of the key factors to approve adsense is the niche. As you already know, half of the adsense applications get rejected these days.
Why? I’ll tell you… Bloggers, especially newbie, are working in the same old mixed up topics. For example, technology, SEO, MMO, etc.
Sites built on such niche reproduce same old content already present in internet. There is nothing new in them. As a result they get rejected.
To approve adsense application, you have to select a profitable adsense niche. Not a niche but micro-niche which means a very specific topic.
Note: Niche is the most important factor for success of a blog. But many bloggers over-analysis a niche and get stuck at this phase. Niche Research should be a quick step. You can make a huge income out of any niche after getting adsense approved if it satisfies few key rules of thumb.
Here is a common example of Micro Niche:
- Niche Topic: Android
- Sub Niche: Android Games
- Sub micro niche: Clash of Clans
But don’t create a website about above topic given in this tutorial. It is an example to give you an idea about micro sub-niche. Those topics already have huge competition going on. There are millions websites working in those same topics. So research and find your own unique niche instead of increasing competition.
And if you want to know your competition without paying for any tools, head over to Google. Search for a topic using double inverted commas at the beginning and end of the phrase. Google will display “xxx No. Of Results Found“. Here, xxx is the total number of web-pages in the world working on same topic. You have to beat those web pages to become successful.
It takes a lot of hard work, consistency, & time to become successful in a high competition niche. It is so because your competitors have already build audiences & followers. It’s going to take a while if you start from scratch. If you have that special talent or if you are god gifted, you can get to that point in a few months. If not, it may take years.
My ultimate goal from this is not to scare you but to enlighten you to select a unique niche.
What to look for in a niche?
- Rule #1 – There should be a high amount of traffic coming from search engines. To make a good income, we need at least 1,000+ organic visitors coming into our site every day.
- Rule #2 – The Niche should be evergreen, hot & trending throughout the year. You don’t want to work on a niche that can make money only for few months.
- Rule #3 – Pick a topic that has good cpc (cost per click) and real commercial value. But at least you should feel comfortable working in the niche for a long time in your career.
- Rule #5 – Avoid a niche that has possibility of violating Adsense program policies.
- Rule #6 – The Niche should be bigger enough to create more than 50 web pages essential to build any authority site.
Note: To find a good niche, you can use tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc. Use Google Trends to find popularity. It can also help you distinguish between seasonal & evergreen topics. Also, you can read my article about the best adsense niches.
Create a Website
Once you have invested and completed niche research, you are now ready to create a website. In this step, the biggest confusion comes to selecting the right blogging platform.
There are many CMS where we can build our website like Wix, Weebly, Blogger, Zoomla, WordPress, Drupal, etc.
And two big names come into our mind when we hear blogging platform. They are Blogger & WordPress.
Should you choose Blogger or WordPress? The debate will continue for ages unless one gets dismantled. Both of them are great places to create a website.
I have used both Blogger & WP. I like to go with WordPress because of the following reasons:
- WordPress is fully-functional & has no restrictions.
- WordPress sites loads faster than any other.
- Easier to operate with neat & clean dashboard.
- You can change each sector of your site.
- More SEO i.e. it can configure a website to rank higher.
- Mobile Friendly of course.
- a lot of free & premium designs.
- & Many More…
Once your website is ready, you can now plan its content. Our goal should be to create an authoritative site. And of course, you will need a good website name, logo and design. These three things should be memorable.
While planning the content, start from the simplest topics, the basics. Covering basic topics before getting into advanced has its own benefits. This makes internal linking more powerful, controls bounce rate & helps every type of visitors. This is good for SEO point of view.
Once you have covered the basics, time to write the complex topics. For that, you will need to do keyword research. I don’t use any tools. I have used Ahrefs only once. These tools give you ideas about what the people are searching for, the search volume, keyword difficulty, cpc, etc.
While doing Keyword Research using any methods, keep in mind of the following 3 things:
- Always use Google Trends to find the increase or decrease in popularity for a keyword. You don’t want to work on a topic that nobody cares about any more, do ya? Tell me in comments below about what you think.
- Always start covering the low competition or low-difficulty keywords first.
- Choose long tail keywords with good cpc.
The above 3 rules will help you a lot whether you are doing keyword research manually or using any tools. Make a list a list of 50+ keywords in excel spreadsheet first, starting from basics to advanced topics and then start making content.
First of all, you will need to create a banner for your post as a featured image. Take care of following things about the picture:
- Its size should be 640 x 360. This image size fits in thumbnails while sharing on social Medias like Facebook. It will not affect the preview displayed on social media in any way if you change website theme in future.
- Do not make the image a misleading or click-bait. It should represent what is inside the link when you share content.
- Upload as JPEG. You can ‘Save for Web’ through Photoshop if you create them yourself. This reduces file size which correlates with loading speed of a web page.
- Rename the image before uploading.
- You can optimize images more by adding keywords, metadata & copyright notice through Photoshop.
- Use an image compression Plugin like WP SMush Pro.
- Always use the alternate “alt” tags after uploading.
- (Optional) you can add 150 – 300 words in image description like Wikipedia does. The text written inside an image description in WordPress does not appear in the actual post. It displays on image page only. It can also give hint to search engines about the image at some point.
Now, the title research is what you should focus on. Try to add focus keyword at the beginning of title. Add few magnetic and emotional words along with brackets, numbers or current year to get audience attention. But never ever mislead or trick, that’s the end & Google will kick you out.
While making the body, you have to organize the text. Usually, it is good to write 2-3 paragraphs of introduction. Always make sure to add the most important keywords in the first 100 words of the copy.
Divide the content into sub-headings & different parts. Include both internal as well as external links. Use table of contents. Add at least 2-3 images per post according to the length of article…
Always write a conclusion & end up asking a question to your audience. Include focus keyword in the title, first paragraph, last paragraph, a sub-heading and 2 to 3 times in the body.
Do not repeat a same word twice in a single paragraph. Make your paragraphs easier to read by adding not more than 4-5 sentences in a verse. And in one sentence, the number of words should not exceed more than 20. That is to increase the readability of blog post or article.
People value facts more than talk in certain circumstances. So try to use as much as resources you have. You must target for at least 1000+ words in every article.
What you cannot do is, copy the content from other websites. Don’t write thousand of words just for the sake of writing. Each & every word, phrases or sentences that you write, must have a value for the users.
One last thing, about the content is that, always fix your spelling and grammatical errors. The moment I write this article, I used MS WordPad offline to type. While writing, I don’t care about anything like the spelling, grammar, etc. I write what is going in my head.
When the article is complete, recheck it for errors using the automatic system in WordPad. Then open Hemingway Editor and paste text there to proof-read readability problems. Re-paste the text from Hemingway editor to MS Word to recheck article one last time.
At the end, I copy the article from MS Word and paste it in WordPress, not in the visual but in the html text editor. If you copy from MS Word into WordPress visual editor, it will copy text formatting as well. We don’t need that. We can format our text inside WP. And the hotkey “CTRL + SHIFT + V” helps to paste the text without styles and formatting. Also install Grammarly Chrome Extension to check for advanced grammatical errors.
Make user friendly design
Now I have told you everything about the website content for adsense approval. If you follow each advice published above, you can get adsense approved. You will also not receive rejection email that says “Insufficient Content“. But there are many other reasons to get rejected. One of them is poor design.
If you have enough money, you can buy a premium WordPress theme. But sometimes free themes work as well. Make sure that the theme is mobile friendly. You can check if your blog satisfies the rule or not by using the Google’s own mobile friendly test tool.
Number two, you should also make sure that your website loads faster. That can be checked with the help of Google Page Speed Insights Tool.
Before applying for Adsense, make your real name & contact info visible on any widgets area.
And if you are thinking to use cracked or nulled premium themes or plugins, you website is at risk. Such themes block ip addresses or may even contain viruses & vulnerable codes infecting your site. You can get hacked. They also lower your website’s search engine rankings. As a result, you might get your adsense application rejected. So never use a nulled theme or WordPress plugin if you are going to work with adsense.
Do Not Violate Adsense Program Policies
You are now ready to apply for Adsense. But before doing that, you should rescan your content and make sure that you are not violating any rules. Some essential points that you should keep in mind are:
- The legal age of a person to apply for adsense is 18+ years old.
- You are not allowed to use other advertisement networks or place ads in your site.
- Do not use affiliate links or promote any third party products.
- Your site must be getting few visitors from search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.
- Avoid auto generated paid traffic like the ones coming through bots, or social media advertisements.
- Make sure that your website is not hosting and/or linking to any of the illegal or copyrighted content.
- Google Adsense does not support every language at the current moment. Make sure to create a website in supported language only.
You can read more about these Adsense rules here. Try not to violate any of the rules. Doing so might even get you banned from adsense for lifetime.
Finally, you can now sign up for adsense via their official website by visiting adsense.com or google.com/adsense. Both of these URLs redirect to a same location. It will create a plus point in adsense approval process if you use a professional email address. It should be domain specific like firstname.lastname@example.org.
Use your real name & a real phone number. I’m pretty sure that a blogger knows how to fill up a form. So I will not go deep into how to fill adsense form on this guide. While entering your website address, do not use http or https in URL. Simply, enter the website domain name like www.example.com.
Also, make sure to enter the correct address about the place where you currently live. Most importantly, fill the postal code accurately correct. If you enter wrong address or postal code, the adsense pin verification letter will be sent to a different location. You will have to wait for 30 days again to change the address and request a new pin. So, enter your address and postal code correctly. You can find your postal code number by visiting a nearby post office or doing a Google search.
As a final step, Adsense will provide you a simple code that you should paste in website’s header. In WordPress Dashboard, go to Appearance >> Editor >> header.php. In that file, you will see a code . Paste the adsense code below it and save the file.
Once completed above steps, be active in your blog for few days to weeks. Adsense will response to your application through email. During that period, you can add new posts and reply to comments in your blog. But be active and regular. Keep checking your inbox during the time.
Now, it is your turn. Did AdSense approve or rejected your application after you have followed above steps? Tell me in comments below.
