To stop such activities facebook has deployed ‘Rosetta’ AI today. But that’s not all; it has clearly stated that their new technology can read text from videos as well that posted in multiple languages worldwide.

Normally, text written in a photo is wrapped inside a transparent rectangular box. The new AI of Facebook first identifies that boxed area which may contain alphabets. To make fb relevant again, it uses a convolutional neutral network to find text written inside any public image.

Facebook translation service has recently added 24 new languages into their system including Nepali, Punjabi, Urdu, Telugu, Marathi and few others. That means facebook can detect text from photos in not only English but also from other languages installed in their system. Despite those newly added languages may contain errors; they are still planning to expand and add other missing languages.
