Enable USB debugging
After meeting above requirements, connect android phone to computer using a data cable. Then enable USB debugging. Here is how to do it:
- Open Settings
- Go to ‘Advanced Options’ (Gionee users only, other model skip this).
- Tap on ‘Developer Options’ and enable it.
- Jump to debugging section and turn on ‘USB Debugging’.
Note: If you cannot find developer options that means you’re not a developer yet. To enable developer options, navigate to settings >> About Phone . Scroll down and tap on Build Number 5-10 times.

- Open the directory where ADB is extracted.
- Hold the ‘shift’ button and right click on empty area.
- Select ‘Open Command Window Here’.
- Type this code in command window
adb reboot bootloader. Then press enter key on keyboard.
- It will reboot device into bootloader mode.
- In command windows, type
fastboot flash recovery twrp -2.8.x.x-xxx.img. Then press enter. Replace x.x-xxx.img with TWRP custom recovery file name.
- This will start flashing your device. When finished, type this code and press enter to reboot phone.
